Artist Statement

Dear Human, I am Tree.

While this is not an animal, it is a living being. My goal was to remind humans that our interactions with plants as living beings may be impacting them in ways we are not ready or able to observe or understand. I wondered what questions a tree might ask us. Should they ever be able to break from their silence? Do we in some ways mold them into our imaginings of a tree? Do our expectations limit what a tree could fully be to us?
