Once upon a time, there was a girl who amused herself throwing rocks into the river. She looked around for larger and larger rocks, because she liked the noise they made when they submerged and splashed.
Suddenly, he found one that seemed perfect to her. When she was about to throw it into the river, she got scared when she discovered it had legs and a head.
She let go immediately, pale and with a racy heartbeat.
Cautiously, the girl slowly took two steps back. She observed the turtle as it struggled to straighten up. She decided to help it, and when she grabbed it, she enjoyed the hard stony sensation of it´s shell.
-Why didn´t you run away? You could´ve at least yelled! – said the girl
-I tried, but you were faster than me. Us turtles try to slip by unnoticed, we run very few times,
even though we can. Some of us are even great swimmers.
-That´s awesome! -the girl interrupted-. I too like swimming! And bike riding, and roller skating, and playing soccer, and…
-And toss around turtles! -It claimed-. You know, a long time ago, in the time of your grandparents´grandparents, and even before that, at a moment in time you might have a hard time imagining, the primordial turtles resembled you a lot.
-So what happened then?
-What happened is all the food that gave us the energy to be like that started disappearing. Winters became longer and colder, and then summer got longer and hotter.
-For real?
-Yeah, actually. Very few grandoms survived, but those who did learned some real useful tricks.
-Like what?- the little girl interrupted, impatiently.
-Like understanding we had to learn to decide what to invest the few energy we had left. We love life and the passing of the seasons, but we know we have to be patient and spend time with ourselves.
-That´s boring! What do you mean spending time with ourselves?
-Yeah, just like you did when you were tossing rocks at the river. We turtles tuck our heads inside our shell house to question time itself, and we just wait.
-Waiting for what?
-For the Universe to answer.
-Has it responded to you?
-Yeah, sure.
-How? When?
-What do you mean when? The moment you grabbed me, that´s when.
